You will need a plane ticket. Qatar or Emirates is great. The hotel for the layover is worth it, otherwise, wax ear plugs from Walgreens or similar, a Carabou brand neck pillow, and Jersey Eye Mask off Amazon and a shawl. They do have reclining seats and you’ll save around $115.
You will pay the temple directly for Room and Board. A camping site in the states in California is $25 per night. Most tent sites are $7 range or free. Average hotel room for business costs around $130 per night. Premium vacation rooms can cost as much as $450 per night or more. The donation will cover temple operations. It’s what the temple relies on to function. Do what you feel is best. Use your intuition.
